Jesus is our EVERYTHING

Here is a great song by the band, Lifehouse:  "Everything"
 - - - side note: I find nothing that says they are a Christian band.  So please don't freak out if you see me using their lyrics and turning it to Jesus and His love for us.

second note: several Christian groups have used this song as the backdrop for Christian skits on Jesus' love for His people and the things of the world that separate us from His love.  BUT, His love wins us back!  [applause!]

One other note - such "light" and fluffy lyrics do, at times, come from the Christian contemporary scene and I can easily see how many people listen to them and wonder if the band is singing about Jesus or a girl.  I am taking these lyrics and adapting them to the love story that the Bible paints about Jesus and His bride (the collection of believers).

God uses that picture, probably one of the most emotionally charged experiences in human life (the love of a man and a woman) to show His intense love for us.  The more we understand His love, the more we will love Him and His people, His world.

I've taken several of the lyrics and added Bible passages - I guess it helps the song to be more devotional and meaningful for me personally.  Hope you are also blessed by it.

Find me here, And speak to me.
I want to feel you, I need to hear you.
You are the light, That's leading me,
To the place, Where I find peace again.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
    a light on my path.
You are the strength,
That keeps me walking.
You are the hope,
That keeps me trusting.

Psalm 28:8-9
The Lord is the strength of his people,
a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
Save your people and bless your inheritance;
be their shepherd and carry them forever.
You are the light,To my soul.
You are my purpose, You're everything.
John 1:4-5
In him [Jesus] was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.
